The Home Office have made some amendments to the list of approved English language test providers for applications made under Tiers 1, 2 and 4 of the points-based system and for spouse or partner applications.


The amendments include:

On the 1st of October 2011 the Agency Workers Regulations will come in to force in the UK, giving more employment rights to agency workers and potentially affecting any business which hires them.


The regulations have been introduced in response to the Temporary Agency Workers Directive which all EU member states are required to incorporate.  The key requirements of the Directive are:

The UK Border Agency has today launched an updated guide - Your Stay in the UK- for all travellers to the UK who have been issued with a UK visa.


Your Stay in the UK contains information about the UK visa and what it permits visitors to do whilst they are in the UK. It also has a section containing information on UK regulations around illegal working, banned foods and other restricted goods. It is intended to help visitors enjoy a trouble-free arrival and stay in the UK

Following Parliamentary approval, new immigration fees will be introduced from Wednesday 6 April 2011 for foreign nationals applying to visit, study, work or settle in the UK, and for employers and education providers applying for a sponsor licence.
